Privacy Policy

What Below Par knows about your golf

Effective 8 August 2026. Supersedes the version dated 1 June 2024.

Below Par is made by Appè Latte Limited in Calgary. This policy explains what the app collects, what leaves your phone, who processes it on our behalf, and how to get rid of all of it. It covers the Below Par iOS app and below-par.app.

The short version. Your golf data is stored against your account so it survives a new phone. We don't sell it, we don't advertise, and there are no trackers or analytics SDKs in the app. You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app, without asking us.

1. What we collect

Things you give us

Things the app records when you use a feature

What we don't collect

No advertising identifiers, no cross-app or cross-site tracking, no third-party analytics or attribution SDKs, and no contacts or calendar data. The app does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

Below Par does not read or write Apple Health data, does not use the microphone, and does not read motion or step data. It holds no entitlement or permission for any of them, so it cannot ask.

2. Who processes it

We use a small number of providers to run the app. They process data on our instructions only, and none of them are permitted to use it for their own purposes.

ProviderWhat it doesWhat it sees
SupabaseAccounts, database and file storageYour account, your golf data, your swing videos and profile photo
AnthropicDeep Analysis coaching tipsA summary of your statistics for that request only. Not your name, email or account identifier.
RevenueCatSubscription statusYour account identifier and whether your subscription is active
AppleApp Store purchases, WeatherKitPayment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your card details

Data is stored in Canada (Supabase, ca-central-1). Requests to Anthropic and Apple may be processed elsewhere.

A note on Deep Analysis. When you run it, a summary of your statistics is sent to Anthropic's API to generate coaching tips. It is not used to train any model. If you'd rather nothing left the app, simply don't use that feature — everything else in Below Par works without it.

3. Why we're allowed to

4. How long we keep it

Your golf data stays until you delete it or close your account. Delete your account and it is removed, including your swing videos and profile photo — this cascades through our database rather than being flagged as hidden. Backups roll off within 30 days.

5. Your choices

If you're in the UK, EU, or a Canadian province with its own privacy legislation, you also have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Exercise any of them by emailing us. We won't charge you or treat you differently for asking.

6. Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Every table carrying your data is protected by row-level security, so a request authenticated as you can only ever read or write your own rows — this is enforced by the database, not by the app. Swing videos and photos sit in private storage that is not publicly readable. No system is perfectly secure, and we won't pretend otherwise.

7. Children

Below Par isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we'll remove it.

8. Changes

If this policy changes materially we'll update the effective date above and note what changed. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the revised policy.

9. Contact

Questions, requests, or anything that looks wrong: hello@below-par.app. For matters concerning Appè Latte Limited generally, hello@appe-latte.ca.
